The bending automation system produces fully bent panels completely automatically, thanks to free programming and flexible production batches – different parts consecutively, including single pieces without setup times. Variations in material properties during the bending process are compensated by the unique MAC 3.0 technology, ensuring that the first bent part is dimensionally accurate without scrap.

Thanks to its modular structure, the system can be configured according to production needs and integrated into various process stages, such as an automatic warehouse, punching center, laser cutting, or robotic press braking. Various automation options are also available for sheet loading and part unloading.

A Salvagnini bending automation system improves efficiency, as one bending machine can typically perform the workload of approximately three to six press brakes. The larger the blanks and the more complex the geometries handled by the bending automation, the fewer operators are needed compared to manual press brake technology – in the best cases, up to ten operators per shift can be reassigned to other tasks.

PX Panel bender

The movements of the PX bending machine’s blankholder bar and wing are implemented with a patented Kinematics solution, achieving bending times of under 2 seconds per bend and enabling a wide variety of bending geometries. Environmental friendliness and energy efficiency are reinforced by a measured average electrical consumption of under 6 kW.

P2Lean Panel Bender

The sheet‑holding clamp can freely handle all sheet shapes. The Salvagnini ABA tool change system is the fastest on the market and causes no waiting times during machine operation. Thanks to pneumatic locking, it is also the only fully hydraulic‑free system. It automatically bends all pre‑cut panel edges; only sheet loading and finished part removal are manual. Ideal for flexible Lean production.

The P2Lean panel bender is now even more ergonomic in blank loading and unloading, and is available with the Cut Option, successfully used in larger bending automation systems. The Cut Option is also available for the smallest model, P4L‑2116.

PX/P2Lean P-Robot

P Robot

The PX and P2 bending machines can be equipped with the new P‑Robot part‑handling cell. Single pieces or small batches can be run manually by the operator with loading and unloading, achieving dimensional accuracy with intelligent MAC 3.0 correction based on material properties.

For unmanned batch production, robot loading and unloading defined directly in the part program is used. Hybrid operating modes are also possible – for example, the operator loads and the robot unloads, or vice versa. Artificial Vision System (RVS) enables eg. automatic part picking from eg. multipart stacks or directly from conveyor coming from Laser Cutting, Punching or Kombi cell.

P4Lean Panel Bender

With the CLA‑SIM device, the blade length can be adjusted automatically without setup times, for example for producing different flanges. This enables handling a wider variety of parts, including geometrically demanding ones, consecutively without affecting throughput time.

Material thicknesses handled: – Steel up to 3.2 mm – Stainless steel up to 2.5 mm – Aluminum up to 4 mm.

Thanks to new motor and structural solutions, the machine’s energy consumption is among the lowest on the market. The system is based on the unique Direct Drive solution, a structure combining servo technology, a maintenance‑free closed loop, and a cylinder.

MAC 3.0 measures and corrects during the bending cycle

Salvagnini’s patented MAC 3.0 (Material Adaptive Correction) measures and corrects a wider range of material surface stiffness deviations during the bending cycle and performs dimensional corrections for large‑radius bends. When combined with the bending automation Cut Option, an even more versatile Lean production cell is achieved, performing cutting and bending processes accurately at the right moment in a single run. With the StreamBend.Auto office programming software can be automatically generated fully optimized bending programs directly from 3D models.
