First Salvagnini fiber laser production cell to Finland

The first order for a fully automatic Salvagnini fiber laser production cell was confirmed in June 2012. The delivery consists of a sixty-location high-bay storage system, a sheet loading unit, an L3 fiberlaser, and equipment for detaching and stacking individual cut parts.

“A significant role in the customer’s decision-making was played by test runs carried out with different suppliers. In these tests, nests from a challenging 0.5 mm stainless steel sheet had to be cut with a fiber laser, after which the cut parts had to be detached and automatically stacked into separate piles.

In this test, Salvagnini’s longest experience in genuine fiber laser technology, and especially in automatic part handling, proved its strength by achieving a 100 percent success rate, while the results of other suppliers remained clearly lower,” explains Salvagnini Area Manager Giovanni Piccolo, and continues: “Cooperation with Fredko has started very successfully, and based on the projects currently under way, we can expect our market share in Finland to grow both in the fiber laser and automatic panel bender sectors. We have also made promising openings in punching and shearing centres.” The first fiber laser cell was delivered to Metos in Kerava in November 2012.
